Aluino Ochoa, MD is a hospitalist at Parrish Medical Center, as well as an assistant medical director for the hospitalist program. He is fluent in Spanish and English.

Dr. Ochoa, MD practices a multi-specialty approach to medical care. His is a hospitalist with specialties in internal medicine, critical care, pulmonary, sleep medicine and wound care. His private practice specializes in internal medicine, sleep medicine and pulmonary medicine. For 20 years, he has also been a surgical assistant for a variety of surgical specialties.

Dr. Ochoa received his medical degree in Guatemala from the University of San Carlos, with post graduate training in general surgery in a 1200 bed teaching hospital where he finished as a chief resident.

In 1983 he came to the United States and passed the required exams to be eligible to begin residency training and practice medicine. At this time Dr. Ochoa also  obtained a Bachelor of Science in respiratory care and worked as a respiratory therapist. He is credentialed as a registered respiratory care practitioner and pulmonary function technologist and gained additional experience as a respiratory technician in the burn unit and ICU. Dr. Ochoa completed his training in internal medicine at Seton Hall University in New Jersey with a fellowship in pulmonary medicine.

Dr. Ochoa holds positions at Parrish Medical Center as a medical director of the wound center and director of the respiratory department.  He serves on many committees at the hospital as a medical advisor. He is also the medical director for Washington Square in Titusville, an intermediate care facility for the developmentally disabled.

Dr. Ochoa enjoys teaching and has served as a preceptor for nurse practitioner students and medical students. He has given several  presentations on wound care, sleep medicine and pulmonary diseases to the hospital staff as well as the public.
